KEYLESS STARTING SYSTEMS OPERATION & DIAGNOSIS NOVEMBER 1, 2023 Keyless starting systems are part of just about every make and model. These systems rely heavily on RF transmission of signals between Fob’s and antennas. The security module is now an integral part of the starting system. These systems can he hard to diagnose due to lack of proper tooling and vague diagnostic procedures in trouble charts as well as some procedures which require you to replace with a known good component as part of the test. In our class we will cover all aspects of system operation, how the individual components work, how to test the components and what equipment you will need for component testing. This class looks at system operation and diagnostic techniques to help the technician test systems and components properly. We cover procedures that are not listed in Manufacturer literature but are effective in getting to the root cause of the problem. OPERATION AND DIAGNOSIS OF ACCESSORY SYSTEMS JANUARY 10, 2024 Whether it be windshield wipers, power windows, memory seats, these systems are generally integrated over several networks and modules. We will cover operation and diagnosis on various accessory systems using scan tools, scopes, and current probes to determine where the actual problems are. ADVANCED CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS MARCH 6, 2024 CAN Networks continue to cause problems and following diagnostic routines in the service manual does not always lead to a solution. This class takes an in-depth look at how CAN BUSs work and how to effectively troubleshoot the different failures that can affect network operation. We will be utilizing both scope and scan tool throughout this class. FLASHING MAY 1, 2024 Flash Programming and How to Deal With Programming and Calibration Errors: It is almost impossible today to install a module or component without either having to program a module or perform some sort of calibration routine. Invariably things go wrong. This class will take a look at common programming procedures, programming failures and calibration failures and what to do when you run into these situations.
